Zoe P. of Frazier Park, Calif., is the winner of the “Design A Fairy House Art Contest,” which was sponsored by PixieHollow.com. Her original design was brought to life by the Walt Disney World horticulture team and revealed Saturday at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
Fifteen-year-old Zoe was inspired to use a pocket watch, a music box, clock hands and gears in her design because these items normally wouldn’t be seen in Pixie Hollow and fairies would consider them treasure from the mainland. Here is how the thousands of entries were judged.
“Design A Fairy House Art Contest” was a tie-in to the third movie in the Tinker Bell series, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, which will be released in November. The film’s director, Brad Raymond, and producer, Helen Kalafatic, attended the celebration to congratulate the winner, meet with Tinker Bell fans and sign autographs. Tinker Bell, Terence and Vice President of Epcot, Dan Cockerell, also were on hand for the unveiling in the Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden at Epcot.
See photos of the other amazing fairy houses here. They will be on display through May 16 as part of Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival.
