I’m charged over the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade

I am thrilled that Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade is returning to the Magic Kingdom for Nightastic, a special summer season this June.
Although I have fond memories of SpectroMagic, the current nighttime parade, there’s something about it that’s just a little … off.
Why, for example, does float after float featuring the fairies from Sleeping Beauty roll by, but Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip aren’t part of the parade?
What are those creepy-faced clown-like mimes at the parade’s start?
Has any small child of today even seen Fantasia?
It will be great to see Cinderella’s ball, Alice’s Wonderland and Pete’s dragon, Elliott, again. Plus, there’s the promise of new floats for Snow White and Pinocchio.
One disappointment: Apparently Dumbo’s circus unit has been removed from the parade. What a shame; the ELP was the only place to see the world’s cutest baby elephant “live and in person.”
Still, I’m ready to bring on summertime!

Bring back ELP in its original glory- but add the Chernabog float from Spectromagic.
Just as a side note…you say that probably no kid today has seen Fantasia…but I don’t think that any kid today has seen Pete’s Dragon either…also, most have not seen Dumbo.
I’d be more willing to believe that children today have seen Dumbo as it was only recently re-released via DVD… Fantasia, I can see that one for sure.. Pete’s Dragon could fall in with some children as it has also been recently in the last few years released on dvd also, and I do beleive there was just recently a Anniversary Edition of it on DVD..
I hope it’s early enough for me to see it – my Seasonal Pass gets blocked off 6/12-8/19! I haven’t seen this since 1999.
For so many kids to have not seen Fantasia. Disney really likes to use The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey costume. It’s just an odd comment. I love Main Street Electrical Parade. But, Spectromagic is in no way….off.
