Four-day Florida-resident deals set for $99

The deal includes four days in the Walt Disney World parks, including Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Disney is offering a new ticket deal for Florida residents. The “4 Day Dream Pass” allows entry any four days between now and May 25, 2010, for $99.

That price is for ages 10 and older. The pass for guests ages 3-9 is $84.

A couple of catches: There are blackout dates (March 27-April 9) and the tickets are not park hoppers — you get one park per day. For $26 extra per ticket, you can transform these tickets into parkhoppers OR into the “water park fun and more” options.

You must present proof of residency, and the ticket is non-transferable. Last day to purchase is May 21, 2010.

For more info, go to disneyworld.com, click on “Florida residents” at the bottom of the page, then click on “view ticket prices for Florida residents” and scroll down to “4 Day Dream Pass.”

That’s the best deal I’ve ever seen Disney offer! Makes me a little worried though, that they might be becoming desperate. I hope the magic at the parks don’t suffer and this offer is a boon for Disney!

  • Jack49 says:

Places like Walt Disney World cannot exist in a crumbling nation like the United States. Out of work people will always opt for food and shelter before entertainment.

    • Joe says:

that is why they get so many foreigners. American will go, but instead of yearly now, they will save up more and then go once every other or 3rd year.

disney needs to offer florida discounts to get you and me. I love the free day on the birthday because you can upgrade with the 1 day ticket price. (not so much the volunteer deal as the mad rush wiped all opportunities through Feb). I got a seasonal pass for under the price 3 single day parks. i’ve already made up for it in 4 months. I may not be able to afford much, but if i go 10 times this year, then that is $17-20 per trip, so pretty good price to spend at disney each time.

    • Scott says:

Have you been to Disney???? Two hour lines for rides…. bunch of people from other countries

      • L Scott says:

That’s not a fair statement. More foreign visitors only helps our economy. Anyone can use a fastpass to avoid the lines.

        • Joe says:

usually only once per every 2 hours or until your next FP time starts

          • L Scott says:

So Joe are you saying fastpass does not work? I can get a fastpass for Splash Mountain, for example, and in the time frame in which I have I can ride Pirates, the Haunted Mansion and see the Country Bears and then return for my ride. Works well for me, but I have noticed a lot of people have no idea how to use it.

    • Darlene says:

Now HERE’S an upbeat person! LOL!

  • nancy says:

they make money from every person who walks into a food or gift shop, so they really should drop that ticket price to get as many people as possible thru the gates. what about that parking fee? what a rip!

    • Joe says:

we bring our own food. We have a soft cooler with snacks and drinks. MAYBE we might buy a gift, but usually a few dollars, never anythingmore then $15 at the most. As for parking, its a rip, but with creative use of locations and shuttles, you don’t have to pay… you just gotta know how..

  • Jeff C says:

Why doesn’t Disney drop the price so low that the parks will be so crowded you wouldn’t be able to move in them. And the place would really go downhill. Get a life people. Florida residents should get a great break on tickets. They live there and go often. The average family can only go once every 2-3 years. That’s not all bad. Firstly you appreciate it more, secondly, you still have to get there, stay etc. So no matter how cheap the tickets are, the other costs would put it out of range for the average family Disney property or not. Cheap tickets to get in or not would help, but not enough to cover the other costs of a family of 4 to fly in from Pennsylvania, $1000, hotel (not disney) $1000, food (not disney) $500, rental car $300. You have almost $3000 and haven’t went to the park yet. So even if it’s free tickets, who in this economy can afford $3000+ on vacation. Keep the price reasonable so you can maintain the high standards but not over. Florida residents, 1/2 price would be great price for tickets to such a fine park.

    • CarCar in WV says:

Seriously your $3000 is way overinflated. You need to bargain shop a little better. You are one of the people who get behind me at the grocery store and get irritated that you have to wait for all my coupons to scan. I have never spent that much money going to disneyworld….for starters quit being lazy and drive there. BINGO that just saved you $750, Pack snacks and sandwiches and take them into the park and only purchase one meal inside DisneyWorld as a family per day…BINGO that just saved you about $250…And as for your hotel have you ever heard of priceline.com…name your own price, pick the requirements you want and pick the area you prefer to stay in while in the Disney Parks area….BINGO save another $700 or so. Oh yeah and driving there alone saves on the need for a rental car so there you go you just saved another $300. That means if going the way we go twice a year, from the Washington DC area may I add, I just helped in saving you $2000 of you ridiculous $3000 total you came up with!!! Now buy your tickets and enjoy your vacation!

      • jay says:

Please… first of all you are not allowed to take food in to the parks. not everyone wants to drive 15 hours with kids in a car..Bingo!!!!!

        • Molly says:

You ARE allowed to bring your own food into the park, Disney only checks your bag for contraband such as glass or alcohol.

  • Lisa says:

We are renting a home for 3 months in Florida. Are we eligible, and how do we prove it?

    • vanessa says:

I dont think so. I think you need a florida license

    • nancy says:

do you pay any of the utils in your name – or have a local phone you pay? or a copy of lease or house-swap contract? I would at least try.
thanks for visiting us here in Orlando. come back next year.

    • Nancy Pegarella says:

Go to DMV and obtain an ID – not a driver’s license. If you get a driver’s license it will be costly and you have to relinquish your license from your state. A state issued ID will verify you live in the state. Remember – only ONE person in your party has to verify identity.

      • Joe says:

no, EACH person, if its a resident rate, MUST provide proof of residency..

This is the proof from Disney:

Proof of Florida residency is required—you must provide any of the following:

        * Florida driver′s license
        * Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
        * Florida voter′s registration card with corresponding picture ID
        * A college ID for a Florida college
        * Florida-based military ID

        • Lisa says:

What if you have kids (that technically need adult tickets because they are over 10) that don’t have IDs? We were thinking to take our kids and their cousins but they don’t have IDs.

          • Molly says:

If you are an adult and you purchase adult and children’s tickets at the same time, you do not need ID for the children, just for each adult in your party.

    • Penny says:

You are NOT a resident. A resident is considered a person who lives there full time.

    • Mike says:

Yes you can…All you need to do is get a Florida ID Card for about $20-$30… Do not get a Florida License just ask for a FL ID and they will honor it

  • tom says:

Nancy are you sure only one person has to show ID to get the tickets?

    thanks

  • Jay says:

This would be a good deal – except that you have to use all 4 days by May 25 (minus the 2-week window). I’m not intetested in going to the Rat Factory that many times in so short a time window. C’mon Disney, stick a crowbar in your wallet and make it to the end of the year at least.

    • jessica says:

I completely agree!! It is a great deal but I don’t think it will really pay off for them since you have a month and a half to use it. If it was the end of the year, more people could buy at more scattered times. I couldn’t imagine being at the park while this short offer is going on. I’d hate to be an employee.

  • mo ky fellow says:

Good Grief!!! I have to drive (hard) for 12 hours to get to Disney. They should let me in free…..and so it goes~~

  • Robdan says:

Jay, you’re not being a team player. Your $99 helps maintain the park, while also creating the necessary volume of people to give the big ticket out of town & state visitors the impression that they are going to a place that is very popular. The visitor who pays the full ticket price, that helps the local economy and helps subsidize your $99 package. So Jay, open up that wallet and hum the tune “It’s a Small World”.

  • Sue says:

Disney parks don’t make any profits off their admission prices. That all goes to salaries, upkeep, etc. The only profits they make are from the parking, food, beverages, and gift shop items.

Contrary to what people may think about Disney as a business — it is quite costly to keep it going on a day to day basis. A bad economy isn’t good for anyone.

They don’t pay for popcorn or syrup to makes the sodas. That’s all “donated” by the vendors in lieu of the free advertising.

Disney doesn’t make a penny off the people that bring their own food and drink. That’s why they try to discourage it from happening but in today’s economy — I can see why it’s being done. People that have passes are also not big money makers, unless they buy food/bevs/gifts while at the parks.

I’m a die-hard Disney fan. But yes, it’s hard to believe that the first time they opened in FL — admission was about $8 per person but you had to use those darn ticket books and no one wanted the A tickets so they mostly got thrown out. I think the A tickets were for Dumbo, the carousel, and something else but I can’t remember. Then you had to stand in line at a kiosk of sorts located throughout the park and buy more books only to waste more A tickets.

The key to a successful business is to keep up and always adapt to change and personally I think Disney does it right and that’s why they still exist.

Don’t get me wrong — I understand 100% why we all would like cheaper admission or better FL resident deals — but to run an enterprise like Disney is very costly and I don’t think Orlando would be what it is if it wasn’t for them. Maybe lots of people wish they hadn’t come here but they are here and that’s my story so I’m sticking to it! :)

  • Alfy says:

The $99 deal is less than $25 per day for 12 hours of constant and varied entertainment, cast member assistance and a choice of dining establishments. Compare that to the cost of a ticket to the Magic, an NFL game or a NASCAR race, where you get a hard seat and maybe 3 hours of entertainment at most, and … just sayin’.

  • linnie says:

I went to epcot on christmas week and the san angel cantina outside the mexico pavilion was so dirty with bird feces on the ground, also no employees were sweeping or cleaning the feces, I wanted to vomit but the margaritas were still good

  • Lisa says:

Thanks for the comments. I’ll check with the DMV and Disney.

  • Alex says:

i think disney world would make so much money if they did E-Z pay..!!

    don’t you think.???

  • Dee says:

    Stop Whining!

Disney offers good entertainment, food choices, lodgeing and you don’t have to worry about what your kids are going to see. We can’t afford to go multiple times a year but at least when we go it is fun and something we remember. I would rather have one really good vacation then several ‘mini’ vacations that I have forgotten before I even leave town.

  • matthew cicio says:

I would like to purchase tickets for the four day florida deal for $99.00 Email matt cicio with this information. We would like to go asap.

    • Reem says:

Did they check ID at the gate? I am going in a week and bought those tickets and I have a Fl ID but my parents don’t will they let me redeem the 3 certificates if I just show them my ID?

  • Ariana says:

remember, everyone that Disney World has to pay their employees, plus a bunch of other money…utilities, taxes, much more…. so tickets will never be so cheap ! I just think is time for a new monoriel…. right?? Theirs is getting a little too old!

  • Teresa Smith says:

I’m having trouble finding any info on this deal on disney’s site. It was there a week or so ago. Any suggestions?

  • Shar says:

With today’s economy, hopefully the Floridians will keep Disney alive.

  • Cara says:

What ID do kids have to have if they are under the age of 16?

  • Chris says:

I think the blackout dates absolutely suck. It is not a deal when you start putting limitations on it. That’s my kids spring break when I wanted to take them, but now I don’t know if I will be able to afford to or not.

  • Alicia says:

My children and I recently completed our volunteer service for the free Disney ticket. We are also Florida Residents and we just heard about the 4 day Dream pass for $99. I know that the free one day volunteer pass can be used to upgrade to a multi day ticket. Does anyone know if this includes the Florida Resident offer? If so, what is the final cost of the Dream pass with the credit from the free pass?

    • jessica says:

” For $26 extra per ticket, you can transform these tickets into parkhoppers OR into the “water park fun and more” options.” I don’t think you can trade in your free pass and get a credit.

  • Brittney says:

The 4 day dream pass, do u have to go four days in a row, or can u spread it out as long as you use all 4 before the experation date in May?

  • Chandu says:

To use that $99 Florida Resident offer, does all pl in the group has to have residency proof or just one person who is buying the tickets should have it?

When would disney verify if they are florida residents after they issue tickets ?

    • Mike says:

Yes, all people have to provide ID, unless they are children

      • Jean says:

Do the non resident tickets look any different than the resident tickets. My husbands parents want to take the kids to Disney but we are not residents. We would obviously buy our own and pay the non resident cost. But the kids may want to go in with us and not Grandparents. The tickets should look alike shouldn’t they? Will this be a problem if the Grandparents buy the kids tickets?

  • Melanie says:

Is it 25 extra per day for the Disney Hopper pass? Or does that 25 include all 4 days?

    • Mike says:

I think it means per ticket, per day. So that’s $100 extra just for one person to add the Park Hopper on all four days

    • Cher says:

Last year I did a 3-day Florida resident pass. I upgraded to the park hopper for $25 TOTAL. I believe this would be the same.

  • Doneurightb4 says:

    So, what I don’t get is this…

If a Florida resident purchases this 4-day dream pass for $99, they receive a certificate that they then take to a Disney ticket window and present along with proof of ID. Then, what?

I assume once the ID is provided with the certificate, you get your pass(es). Are those passes like any/every other pass you might purchase whereby you insert the pass into the machine at any park, stick your index finger up to the scanner, and the card is spitted out the other side.

What am I missing here? Do they check for Florida IDs at the gate everytime you enter a park over the four days of the pass?

I guess my question is…if I had someone in FL purchase this for me, get the ticket in hand, then give it to me, what else are they checking/looking for at the gate? It would seem once you have the ticket in hand, you’re good to go. But obviously, there’s more to it than that. But what?

    Thanks.

    • Molly says:

You are correct, that is how it can be done. However if this person in Florida already has one, or is an annual passholder or employee, the system will kick them out and not allow them purchase it.

  • John says:

How does the finger scanning work for resident passes? Do I need to scan my finger when I buy the pass and then scan it again at every park gate? Can I bring my wife’s ID to buy a ticket for her or does she need to come in person to have her finger scanned in order to buy the pass?

  • John says:

I guess my real question is, how do they enforce the “non-transferability” of the resident pass? My cousin and his wife who live in Florida can buy it for us and our kids and we (out of state) can use it when we get there.

    Thanks

    • rafaella says:

u can def do it!!! they do not enforce it at all if someone buy the tickets at the booth and you scan on the machine… me and my fiancee tried not scanning our finger and they thingy turned green anyways!!! there is no way they can enforce that!!! thats all i have to say!

  • Claudia says:

Can you buy a Fla four day pass at the park gate before entering? Thanks

  • rick d says:

4 day dream pass for florida residents. Can you visit one park more than once with this pass?

  • angie b says:

For all the give-a-day Florida residents:

My two teens and I went to Disney in February with our volunteer give-a-day vouchers. They gave us full credit for the vouchers and allowed us to purchase the 4-day dream pass for only $21 dollar more! So, that’s a four day pass for $21(per person). Yes, you still have to use it by a certain date in May and you can’t use it during Spring Break(it is too crowed during that time anyway). However, I think it is a great deal!

  • Mel says:

You guys could also have done the give a day, get a day and you would have gotten a free day in Disney. Also, if your kids were 6 and older they could have also volunteered. Both my sisters volunteered and they only had to give up 3 hours of their day, which is nothing. I recently heard Disney was only giving out 1,000,000 tickets and that the capacity had been reached. As a Disney annual passholder, I find going to Disney cheaper than anywhere else and my two year old loves it.

  • William Eastman says:

Can you buy more than one pass or are you limited to just one only?

  • laura says:

does anyone know what parks apply to the 4 day passes

  • Mike says:

question if i get my friend who is a FL resident to go buy me two tickets. When i get to the gate will ID have to be shown again?

  • Jay says:

    HI,
Does anyone have an answer to Mike’s ? If I get a ticket from a friend in Fla Will they check my ID at the gate????
    Thanks
