About 400 Walt Disney World employees have signed up to staff phones during a global telethon tonight aimed at raising money for earthquake-devastated Haiti.

Disneys says its “voluntEARS” will be fielding calls and processing donations out of the resort’s Orlando reservations center during the two-hour “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon, which will air on broadcast and cable networks tonight beginning at 8 p.m.

Earlier this month, the Walt Disney Co. pledged $100,000 toward rescue and recovery efforts in the impoverished island nation.

“Offering to help with the “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon is one of many ways The Walt Disney Company and cast members are extending their support to the people of Haiti,” Disney said in a written statement. “The tragedy has struck a chord at Disney as thousands of Walt Disney World cast members have close personal ties to Haiti and are still trying to locate friends or family members in the region.”
